PERIODS OF DISABILITY
Hours Credited for Period of Temporary Disability
If you lose more than 10 working days in a calendar year through temporary disability for which you receive WCB, E.I. benefits or Weekly Indemnity benefits under a health and welfare plan sponsored by your employer or by the Union, you may apply to have the service lost in excess of 10 days, credited at the rate of 8 hours per day, subject to a maximum for all years of 130 days for any one illness or injury.
You must apply for such credit within 60 days of receiving your Plan statement for the year, and you must provide proof of entitlement satisfactory to the Trustees.
Hours Credited for Periods of Long Term Disability
The period prior to age 65 during which you receive benefits under the long-term disability insurance plan of the Union or your employer will be credited at the rate of 160 hours per calendar month, or 8 hours per working day for any incomplete month. Proof of disability acceptable to the Trustees is required.
